That’s Real Cute: L’Oreal Sublime Mousse Haircolor

So I’ve had a spray of gray hair from about the age of five on. As a kid I got the “Gray hair, your __ years old. That’s crazy!”. Somewhere around 25 or so it flipped into “Ooh girl, you are going gray early”. It’s never truly bothered me but lately that spray made friends and started to spread the word to the other hairs that they too could be gray.

I don’t fuss a ton with beauty products so when I started to see ads for foaming hair color, I knew that I’d be able to color my hair myself. No drips, No strand by strand application, no dying my hairline dookie brown by accident. Just smash it into my head and ta-da.

So I’d looked at a few brands and narrowed it down to John Frieda and L’Oreal. I was in Target over the weekend with Whitney and they had L’Oreal’s Sublime Mousse on sale. I came home watched one or two of the video tutorials on the L’Oreal site and game on.

It was the typical mix this with that and apply deal. Gloves on and I was foaming away. End result I have a “Come stand in the sun and look my hair is golden brown” result which is exactly what I wanted. Personal lesson learned though, my hair is part sponge so no classy head of foam like the lady on the box. I needed two of the kits because it didn’t so much cover my gray as give me awesome honey champagne tinsely strands in my hair. On the upside the conditioner included has magic in it and my hair is all glossy everything.

Final Verdict:

Smell - None really besides a faint ammonia as you get closer to the 30 minute mark. The conditioner is the standard lovely hair product smell.

Effectiveness - Did what it was meant to and well, but I have to remember my hair is desert level thirsty when it comes to product.

Cost - $7 on sale, worth it for the tube of conditioner alone. I used 53 Medium Golden Brown btw.
