So all that mess about not knowing what you have till it’s gone might be true (or at least in my case until you declare that you are leaving it for a bit)….I would like to give all the love, hearts, stars, diamonds, hugs and all that mess to everyone that came out tonight to fare me well on my journeys to Boston (Yes, Emily it’s actually Woburn, but saying Boston is easier).
In case you were unaware I hang with the most fantastic group of amazing, talented, gifted, beautiful people. The fact that they choose to hang with me makes me one of the luckiest broads out there. The fact that they continue to hang with me (and by me) makes me blessed beyond measure.
Big Loves to Emily C, Emily H, Biana, Topher, Jess, Maffew Bray, Chemda, Lauren, Christina, Damien, Jon, Nichelle, F-MOS (thank you so much for the gift I promise to use it and I swear I wasn’t responsible for you being drugged…this time), Melissa, Miss Katie Mo & Co. and anyone else I might have missed (blame the Tequila)…the same amount of love goes to everyone that sent regrets for not being able to make it…Things get nutty and just the effort was appreciated.
A very special thanks to the gentleman at the bar for reminding me why I will be coming back to NYC in the Fall. Your declaration that I “Wasn’t from here” and subsequent retort of “I live in Manhattan” when I saltily let you know that I was born in Brooklyn raised in Queens reminded me that I am a New Yorker through and through.
I like arguments, walking quickly/efficiently in grid like patterns and 1/2 sour pickles. You can keep on living in Manhattan in the meantime, when I come back Brooklyn will welcome me back after cussing me out for leaving in the first place.
I shall be back for a few days the end of July for M.I.A. and we will all have a time. I’ve also apparently committed to an August appearance so think of me as the wayward uncle who turns up at family picnics.
