Rise of The Planet of The Apes - 8/5/11 (US)
Hopefully this goes better than the last attempt at a new Apes film. I happen to be a fan of the original set of films (and the awful short lived TV show) so I’m hoping they learned from the last go round.
Casting John Lithgow, James Franco and Tom Felton (go ahead Draco Malfoy, getting post Potter roles) is a good start.

Are you seeing this with your eyes? The Acting in the trailer alone is crazy. Taylor Schilling who was my everything in the unfortunately short lived NBC show Mercy is starring. The fact that they made it for only $15 million is bananas.
P.S. It definitely does not hurt that my boy Quark is in the movie either….

So last Thursday I mentioned a new Ryan Reynolds in a box film called Buried was being shopped (Lionsgate bought it) at Sundance. Take a look at the teaser trailer…
I looked up the director Rodrigo Cortes. He’s from Spain and this seems to be his first US release. The camerawork in the trailer feels a bit “Blair Witch Project”.

A trailer for “The Runaways” is out. I will go see it due to my enjoyment of the way Dakota Fanning is growing up. It was also directed by Floria Sigismondi who is one of my favorite visual artists and she’s directed some of my favorite Music Videos ever.
